Dr. Ir. Sri F. Tarmizi, MBA
Ms. Tarmizi was graduated as the first female Petroleum Engineer from ITB (Bandung Institute Technology) in 1972. During her long years service in a Multi National Company in Oil and Gas Industry, Ms. Tarmizi, a believer in lifetime learning and continuous improvement efforts, managed her time for her academic achievements, pursuing her MBA degree in 1996 and her Doctoral degree in end year of 1999. Dr. Tarmizi’s 20 years of experience in oil and gas industry in operations engineering, human resources, business planning and process re-engineering as a manager supported by good academic background assures the quality of sharing of the industry knowledge base and practices. She spent her seven years in Operations Engineering during the Company busiest years with a 10-rig year program of which, 3 (three) rigs were assigned to her as a result of industrious persistent works on pursuing exploratory and development projects for the areas under her supervision as Senior Area Engineer.
As Planning Manager, she facilitated the development of Long Range Plan where Company set the Mission, Vision, and enabling strategies to achieve the bottom line as well as the monitoring process for reality check. During her period as Planning Manager she facilitated the company’s program in cost containment and ensured that each department had a follow-up program to implement cost reduction. Later, as Business Process Reengineering Team Leader, she heavily involved in the Inventory Management Reduction program, where she worked closely with production operations, financial and materials management professionals to review the management of production materials and the logistics for offshore warehouses. As instructor and facilitator, Dr. Tarmizi teaches various management subjects for management masters program as well as corporate executive development programs.


The first commercial warehouse that was utilized in the world was in Venice, Italy in the Middle Ages. Since then the warehousing knowledge has developed and stretched to the current state, where virtual warehouse is something that is real. Materials management is one area that has been proven to have significant contribution to cost retrenchments. Poor materials management yields lower productivity, especially in manufacturing or production sector, which means resulting in higher overall production cost.

This interactive workshop provide avenue to investigate and discuss the changing role of Warehousing and Inventory Management along with the key impacting Warehousing and Material Handling as part of the total supply-chain process

This workshop sets out to
